1. New Early Morning Classes in May – test run
One of our new initiatives is probably also one of the most important ones: morning yoga. We have heard from many of you members that it would be great with some early morning yoga classes before work to kickstart your day in the best way possible. We have listened to your wishes, and we therefore want to offer early morning yoga classes 3 times a week: Wednesdays, Thursdays (except May 10, Kristi Himmelfart), and Fridays. Malou and Tanya will teach the early morning classes, and the schedule will be as follows:
Wednesday Warm Yoga & Dance with Malou:
On Wednesdays from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, we have chosen to do a playful yoga to celebrate the mid-week. This warm yoga & dance class will have music, and Malou will put together a class, which will encourage you to explore movement in a fun and energizing way. The aim is to wake up your body and senses, and make you leave for work with a smile on your face and peace in your mind.
Thursday Pre-work Yoga with Tanya:
On Thursdays from 7:00 am to 8:00 am, Tanya will start off your day with a yoga session that will prepare you for the day. You will stretch out and loosen your body after a night’s sleep, so you will feel refueled for work. The yoga class will also provide you with yoga-inspired exercises, which you can use throughout your work days to keep your body and mind happy and healthy.
Friday Warm Hatha with Malou:
On Fridays at 6:30 am to 7:30 am, Malou will put together a Hatha session, where we turn down the heat a bit, so your body can wake up to the warm ambience in the room. In this class, there will be no music, but focus is on warming up your body in a playful way before work. With Malou’s natural and fun-loving teaching style, our Warm Hatha Fridays will give you a flow of positive, happy energy right before weekend.
All three classes will be on the schedule every week from start May, except for Thursday Pre-work yoga on May 10, as this is Kristi Himmelfart holiday.
We have chosen to do a trial run for the early morning yoga classes for a month (May), and if they are well-received, we will keep them for the summer. Come join us for the early morning classes, and let us start the day together in the best way possible – in a yoga pose.
2. Special Meditation on May 3:
We continue having our Special Meditation monthly session with Laura, so remember to mark your calendar on Thursday May 3, if you want to join Laura’s class. The Meditation class will be from 20.15, and if you want a full meditation experience, we recommend joining the Warm Yin with Laura at 18.45 right before the Meditation session. After the Warm Yin, you lie and restore your energy in the room before the Meditation session.
3. Schedule changes for the Kristi Himmelfart & Pinse holiday:
Due to the upcoming holidays, we will make some schedule changes for Kristi himmelfartsdag and 2. Pinsedag. Remember to stay updated with the schedule on our website and Facebook page.
4. Do you have a vacuum cleaner to spare?
All good things will some day come to an end.. Which is the case with our beloved vacuum cleaner. It still has a few “go’s” left, but soon, we will need to replace it. Maybe one of you has a spare vacuum cleaner at home, which you’re not using? If so, please send us an email by replying this newsletter.
5. Summer Schedule changes:
The schedule will be changing for summer (June, July, August). At this moment, we’re not quite sure what the altered schedule will look like, but when we have it all sorted out, we will notify you. As always, remember to stay updated with the weekly schedule on our website and our Facebook page.
6. We would love your feedback and suggestions!
It’s extremely important for Østerbro Yogaforening to be a community for all of us, and to be a place we all want to come. The board wants to know what you think about the experience of practicing yoga, so if you have a comment, suggestion or praise, we would love to hear from you: It may be wishes for hours, instructors or just feedback. If you have any comments – you’re more than welcome to reach out to us!
We look forward to seeing you at the Yogaforening and practicing together – and hopefully at one of our new early morning yoga classes! Stay warm and stay bendy!
